Mongolia at First Glance
Mongolia referred as “The land of blue sky” is a place to savour complete serenity and to enjoy endless grassland with a unique animal and bird world. The landscape of Mongolia is incredibly versatile: from the north, which is characterized by extensive forests and clear rivers and lakes, to the giant sand dunes of Gobi desert, home to thousands of gazelles and wild argali sheep. Apart from the sand dunes in the Gobi, there are numerous colorful mountain chains, steppe areas with ancient saxaul trees and red sandstone rocks, where the famous dinosaur sites are located. In the untouched Mongolian western wilderness, the majestic snow-topped mountains of Altai rise up above 4000m. Not only the beauty of the mighty mountains with snowy peaks, but also the variety of mountain flowers and mountain glacier views will take your breath away. The unspoilt east, the sea of grassland and secluded lakes, is the birthplace of mighty Chinggis Khaan.
